Slipstream and transrealism

Slipstream and transrealism is not under the genre of science fiction, however it still relates to some degree to the scientific and futuristic elements. Slipstream mentions on ideas which are contradicting to each other, and transrealism is related to metaphors and literature which is known as reality by the authors. Reader must imagine the image and story as a real place, story and situation. Slipstream has a aggression to reality, which has a little of both fantasy and futuristic in them however it is stick to the current times of everyday life. Slipstream is created by Bruce sterling during 1989.Slipstream create painting of surrealism. Surrealism is more of a dream-like reality to the audience which does not make sense. Since science fiction is closely related to games, i shall compare slipstream and transrealism with it. Science fiction is more of a theoretical story that the audience would think it is real, while surrealism and transrealism is more on the dream like feeling that does not make any sense however the audience is suppose to believe in it and think it as reality. Games are related to this kind of genre, many game have dream like features but the players would think it as if it was real, think it that it was reality. Even though it does not relate to our group project”Purge”, we can get some ideas by understanding transrealism and slipstream, the map of the game is not linear hence we are able to allow players to move around, we can make the map look like a labyrinth which made the players lost in the game giving them more horror, since it is a horror game. Feeling lost is also a way to cause the players fear. The labyrinth like way confuse the players and allow them to experience difficulty.
